01Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how VRIL LABS ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit vril.li, use our SDKs, interact with the $VCUR token or related ecosystem tokens ($VLABS, $VRAY, $VKEY, $VWONE), or subscribe to our updates.
It does not govern blockchains, wallet software, decentralized exchanges, or third-party services you choose to use — those are independently operated and have their own policies.
02Data we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — only if you subscribe to our Genesis list. Used solely for milestone updates and dispatched via Resend.
- Contact-form messages — anything you send through
/contact, including the email you reply from.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, request path, status code, and timestamp. Retained briefly for abuse detection and debugging. Email-shaped strings in upstream errors are scrubbed before logging.
- Aggregate analytics — page views and referrer counts in aggregate. We do not use cross-site tracking pixels.
Information we do not collect
- Private keys, seed phrases, or signed-message contents.
- Off-chain identity unless you voluntarily provide it.
- Biometrics, precise geolocation, or device fingerprints.
03Wallet & on-chain data
When you click Connect Wallet on the $VCUR page, your wallet provider (e.g. MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow) shares your public address with our front-end via the WalletConnect / EIP-1193 protocol. We use this address to:
- Read your token balances directly from the Base blockchain (via public RPCs and 0x / 1inch / Mint.club APIs).
- Pre-fill swap and mint transactions for you to review and sign in your own wallet.
- Display ecosystem holdings (e.g. "✦ HELD" badges for VLABS, VRAY, VKEY, VWONE).
We do not store your wallet address on our servers unless you submit it through a form (e.g. for a support request). Wallet sessions are kept in your browser's local storage by AppKit and cleared when you disconnect.
04How we use information
- Operate the site and SDKs — serve pages, fulfill API requests, render live token data.
- Send updates you asked for — Genesis-list emails about token milestones, vault unlocks, and product launches.
- Detect abuse — rate-limit scraping, mitigate denial-of-service, investigate fraud.
- Comply with law — respond to lawful subpoenas and regulatory requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making with legal effects, or for the training of third-party machine-learning models.
07Retention
- Email subscribers — kept until you unsubscribe (one-click link in every email).
- Contact-form messages — kept up to 24 months for support continuity, then deleted.
- Server logs — kept up to 90 days for abuse and debugging, then deleted.
- On-chain data — outside our control; permanent on the blockchain.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA / CPRA, and similar), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten") — except where retention is required by law or where the data lives on a public blockchain we cannot modify.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we don't do either; nothing to opt out of.
- Withdraw consent for marketing email at any time via the unsubscribe link.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@vril.li. We respond within 30 days.
09Security
We use TLS in transit, scoped API keys server-side only, scrub PII from server logs, and design our endpoints to avoid storing wallet activity. No system is perfectly secure — please use a hardware wallet, verify contract addresses on Basescan before signing, and be skeptical of anyone who DMs you claiming to be from VRIL LABS.
10Children
vril.li is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11International users
VRIL LABS is based in Ventura, California, USA. If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that information you submit will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your jurisdiction.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page and (if you've subscribed) via email. The "Effective" date at the top always reflects the current version.
